By the time this election cycle is over, more than half of the Hoosier State’s congressional delegation could be brand new.

Three Republicans are leaving their congressional seats: Reps. Larry Buschon (IN-08) and Greg Pence (IN-06) are retiring, and Rep. Jim Banks (IN-03) is poised to succeed Sen. Mike Braun, who’s running for governor. Since none of these seats are competitive, Republican primary voters will determine their successors in the May 7 primary.

And GOP Rep. Victoria Spartz (IN-05), one of the House’s most unpredictable members, looks increasingly vulnerable after waffling on her 2024 plans for the past year. She’s now facing a serious primary challenge from a wealthy state lawmaker who’s poured millions of dollars into his campaign.

Meanwhile, Republicans once again are making a play to defeat Democratic Rep. Frank Mrvan (IN-01) in northwest Indiana, which has trended in the GOP’s favor over the past decade.
