Republicans have struggled to break through at the presidential and gubernatorial levels in Colorado, but finally won a Senate seat last year and have held a steady 4-3 lead in the House delegation since 2010. The most competitive seat in the state by far is the Aurora-based 6th CD, where GOP Rep. Mike Coffman has survived two tough elections and just announced he will forgo a Senate run to seek reelection. CO-01: Diana DeGette (D) - Central: Denver Solid Democratic. DeGette will never have any real electoral concerns in a Denver district that gave President Obama 69 percent of the vote in 2012. The 1st CD barely changed in redistricting and remains the most Democratic in the state. CO-02: Jared Polis (D) - North: Boulder, Ft. Collins Solid Democratic. Redistricting in 2012 changed the geographic makeup of this Boulder-based district drastically, but retained the 2nd CD's Democratic bent.
