The Sunshine State is poised to play a more pivotal role in national politics next year than at any time since the days of "hanging chads" in 2000. Not only has Florida spawned two front-running candidates for the GOP presidential nomination, its presidential primary next March could turn into a huge winner-take-all prize. Of course, Florida is also the Electoral College holy grail for both parties in any presidential election, and next November will be no exception. As if that's not enough action, the race for GOP Sen. Marco Rubio's open seat could help decide control of the Senate. What's attracted less attention, however, is the huge domino effect of the Senate race. The entry of three of Florida's House members into the field (and possibly four, if Democratic Rep. Alan Grayson jumps in) has created attractive opportunities for a variety of ambitious up-and-comers in next August's primaries.
