In the wake of Speaker John Boehner’s resignation from Congress as well as national polls and other developments, it is hard to say which party should be more afraid - Republicans whose party seems bent on committing self-immolation on both the presidential and congressional levels, or Democrats who early on pretty much settled on a presidential nominee now hopelessly mired in the State Department email server controversy, one that is unlikely to be resolved before Christmas and potentially extremely damaging. The best case scenario for Clinton is that this email mess drags on for months, a drip-drip-drip of revelations and developments that will keep her and her campaign off-balance, off-message, constantly in reaction to events, never in control. This best-case scenario for her ends up petering out early next year, causing great political damage but no legal consequences, other than perhaps a staffer or two getting thrown under the bus. She would be guilty of little more than having horrible judgment for having decided to use a private, unsecured server for her work emails. The worst case scenario, probably only
