RACE ANALYSIS

The Bottom Line

Updated: Oct 8, 2020

Republicans' Super PAC is up with ads blasting Rose, a member of the moderate "Problem Solvers" caucus, for marching in a Black Lives Matter protest in June, and GOP Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis is betting on a backlash from law enforcement. But in his scrappy Staten Island style, Rose responded with an ad demonstrating his independence by calling Bill de Blasio "the worst mayor in the history of New York City." Both parties still view this as a highly competitive contest.
