Trump scored a win in the Alabama Senate runoff, where Rep. Barry Moore defeated former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson. Limited polling had shown a tight race, but Moore won convincingly and is the clear favorite in the open seat race we rate as Solid Republican. Hudson had hoped his outsider credentials and heavy emphasis on his faith and military service could help him pull off the upset, but Moore had support across the ideological spectrum — not only from Trump, but also from Senate Majority Leader John Thune.Key Dates
