DAINES, Steve, a Senator and a Representative from Montana; born in Van Nuys, Los Angeles County, Calif., August 20, 1962; graduated from Bozeman High School, Bozeman, Mont.; B.S., Montana State University, Bozeman, Mont., 1984; businessman; delegate, Republican National Convention, 1984; unsuccessful candidate for lieutenant governor of Montana in 2008; elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Thirteenth Congress (January 3, 2013-January 3, 2015); was not a candidate for reelection to the House of Representatives but was elected as a Republican to the United States Senate in 2014 for the term ending January 3, 2021.
